Description: The installation and operation of an asphalt
plant, concrete batching plant and gully waste plant, together with ancillary
development and access.
Comments: I am seriously concerned about any extra HGV
traffic, also dust and noise pollution relating to this application. We
currently suffer a very great deal of dust and obnoxious odours from premises
located on North Quay Road. I have reported very strong odour nuisances to
Environment Agency many, many times (in the 100's) over the last several years
and also dust nuisance over the last few years. There are, in my mind, far too
many heavy lorries accessing North Quay Road and Newhaven generally, as the
condition of the A26 surface is breaking up and has not been repaired, there is
nearly always a subsiding area by the railway crossing, which I think may be a
water drain collapsing because in the last few years the drains in A26 flood at
each rainfall. If this application is passed, the site must have substantial
noise barriers all round and assured pollution control.
