Description: |
The proposal includes the
installation of a Yurt and a composting "Thunderbox" WC on the land
adjacent to Robertsbridge Community College. |

The site of this
application has been a 'paddock' since my husband and I moved here in 1993
and has been left to overgrow since being purchased by the school and last
year, without consultation with or notice to ourselves the area was cleared
by a digger and all debris pushed up against and over our garden boarder
leaving a huge pile of mixed earth, trees, metal and chunks of an asbestos
roof of a former stable. After numerous emails between myself and firstly Sue
Prochak and then after Stephen Hardy we were told that the debris was to be
removed but as of today it is still there and we have been forced to remove
some of this ourselves. Also, a structure has appeared on the site made of
wood and canvas for which no planning application has been made. Is this to
stay in addition to the proposed yurt? We have no wish for a thunderbox
toilet to be on the site attracting rats and causing odours. We are also
concerned about any felling of trees especially the oaks which form a screen
between our property and the school. Some healthy fruit trees have already
been felled, we feel unnecessarily. Surely the oaks should be preserved? We
feel we have been treated with contempt over this application and no
consideration has been given to the neighbours bordering this site. All our
protests have been ignored and genuine concerns overlooked. We are not
against the forest school in principle but any change of use of the paddock
is extremely concerning. |
