Description: Change of use of plant/machinery workshop to a recycling and waste transfer station and associated external storage bays.
Comments: As the person who farms the land adjacent to the NE boundary of this site, I wish to object to this application for several reasons. 1. I have had to endure intolerable amounts of dust from the next door waste wood site, the prospect of yet more dust would severely affect my farming business. There have been times when my grassland is not fit for grazing, I cannot tolerate any more dust. My fields are in the line of the prevailing winds. The health & welfare of my livestock & myself are at risk not only from the dust but the toxic substances that may be in the dust from the waste materials. 2. Noise generated from this site from past experience reverberates across the valley to the N, I can clearly hear noise from my house. Dropping skips onto concrete is a very noisey process, this would be an unacceptable level of noise 3. Drainage, the application states main sewers would be used, there is no mains drainage/sewers in the area. All water generated by sprayers/misters has to go somewhere, surface water would either run into my fields or down the ditch on my land at the western end, this is already overflowing with foul effluent from other parts of the industrial estate. It is piped further down & the pipe is already unable to cope with the amount of water so causing flooding. Any waste water running into my fields is likely to contain toxic substances from the waste which could endanger the health of my grazing livestock. 4. The application states working hours would be 7-20.00hrs. Mon -Fri & 8-16.00 hrs Sat. these are excessively long hours to put up with noise & dust. Should this application be granted, all working must take place in an enclosed building & conditions properly enforced
