Expertise

I like to knit, sew, crochet and embroider in my spare time and I set up my own knit and natter group in Hastings a few years ago. Once a month I perform my own Bingo Cabaret Act which takes the traditional game of bingo but puts a surreal and hilarious spin on it. I have many tattoos and enjoy adding to my collection from time to time. I have 2 small dogs and love to get out into the countryside and parks for them and me to get exercise. I love the outdoors and enjoy camping without too many mod cons. I have a keen interest and knowledge of a variety of music and like to watch live music from many genres. I enjoy cooking especially for other people and have confidence and experience in cooking from a variety of ethnic dishes. I consider being happy and helping others to find their happy an important skill in life, whilst recognising when this is or isn't appropriate in my work.

Experience

Having brought up my own children, been a carer for my disabled mother and working in a care home with older people I am aware of what needs doing in the home to keep it healthy and happy. I'm happy to do what's needed and/or be guided by you to achieve the standard that you prefer in your own home.
I am happy to provide most services needed with an emphasis on encouraging you to have as much independence, dignity and control over you care, as possible. I am a flexible and caring person and I'm happy to do what needs doing when it needs doing rather than sticking to rigid schedules for the sake of it. I am therefore confident and happy at providing any of the services needed, some spontaneously and others with appropriate notice/planning.
Throughout my life I have always worked with people and feel that I have a skill in being able to work well with people of all ages and backgrounds, this I have done in a variety of carers.
I have child-minded, volunteered in schools, worked in retail, run my own shop in Brighton, worked with older people in a care home and worked with vulnerable young people, before recently embarking on a career in working as a Personal Assistant.
I am committed to supporting and empowering people to reach their full potential and my aims are to help you live your life and have your home 'As You Like It'
