Good communication is very important to me, I take great care and
attention to this when supporting my clients with their particular needs of
support, working closely with their family and alongside other health
professionals. I’ve cared for people with dementia, people who’ve needed
support with their mental health, visual impairment and hearing loss. I’ve
nursed and cared in a role to give palliative care and end of life care.
I am an avid beach cleaner and support the 2minutebeachclean group. I
love swimming; especially in the sea. I enjoy being outdoors and going
for walks and pottering in my garden. I enjoy taking photographs and
share them on my social media accounts. When I have time I love to
paint and draw encouraging my daughters to be creative and on
occasions my clients too.

Health Care. I started at the age of 17 as a weekend kitchen assistant in
a care/nursing home, I enjoyed getting to know the residents and was
encouraged by the staff to become a care assistant. In my twenties and
thirties I worked as a community carer and as a care assistant, relief
cook, laundry assistant in a nursing home. In the last 7 years I’ve worked
as a self-employed carer, joining the SWC Scheme last year as an Adult
Workforce Personal assistant. My experiences have given me a great
insight into the diversity of people’s needs honing my skills to give them
the support and care they need.

In the span of over 20+ years I have worked as a care assistant in a
nursing home and as carer in the community for a care agency. Seven
years as an self-employed carer, last year I joined the Support with
Confidence Scheme and have benefited from their training and wonderful
