List of services

I offer carer's respite breaks. I provide one-to-one support to
the client for two or three hours, so that their carer can have a much needed
break. This can either be in the client's own home, or I can take
the client out - where and for how long to be determined by the client and
their carer.
I also offer a similar service to people who live on their own and who need
support to get out and about.
Outings can be social or practical - National Trust gardens, the seafront,
local park, church, garden centre, interest group / club, supermarket, hospital appointment - the
list could go on and on!
I would also be happy to assist someone to have a whole day out. I do not do personal care or domestic tasks however, I would obviously assist in an emergency if necessary during a visit / outings.

I am particularly interested in working with older people with memory problems and those who are socially isolated.

I have a wide variety of personal interests - art, history, archaeology, geology, literature, knitting, sewing, crafts. I am a member of the National Trust and the Art Fund, and a Friend of Wakehurst Place. I love living so near the sea and our wonderful countryside. I was brought up with dogs, and quite like cats and other pets too!

I previously worked for East Sussex Adult Social Care for many years. I have professional experience of working with and supporting adults with dementia, physical disabilities and illnesses, mobility problems and sensory impairment. I have personal experience of caring for close family members with dementia and mobility problems.
