I enjoy film, theatre and the arts in general and am interested in learning about people and their lives.

I also love animals and taking trips both home and abroad.

I worked in Local Government for over 30 years. Last year I made the decision to do what I had always thought was the vocation meant for me. I have always been a ‘people person’ and, although I enjoyed the public facing aspect of my job, I wanted to do something more worthwhile and people centred. So, I started working with my first 2 clients this year, both very elderly with different needs and I soon realised I had made the right decision.

Having spent a number of years trying to care for my mum who was disabled I realised that the sort of home care she received from her agency carers was not the sort of care I want to give. I am passionate about wanting to provide consistent care which enables people to stay in their own home and live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

I believe it is important to have carers who are interested in you as a person and can share your interests if possible. I like theatre, arts, cinema, books, TV, walking, animals and yoga.

I have done voluntary work for the Cinnamon Trust where I walked dogs for 3 years for older people with mobility issues.

I was also a Gamesmaker at the 2012 Olympics in London. I love meeting new people, so working in the Olympic Stadium was ideal for me!

I have also worked with the homeless on a voluntary basis in Hastings at Snowflake and spent a Xmas Day at Surviving Xmas, a charity who provide support, company and food for those in need.

I worked for over 30 years full time in Local Government.
