OUT & ABOUT GROUPS/BEFRIENDING & SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT:
Small befriending groups offer a social activity and reduce loneliness and social isolation, plus break for carers. Outings are an opportunity to catch up with new and old friends and enable you to visit places of your own personal interest. Previous outings have included; garden centers, the seaside, cinema, theatre, museums, Indoor bowls and bowling, open gardens, shops, bingo, jazz bands, exercise classes, tea dances, sporting events, cooking, knitting and book clubs holidays. Suggestions and ideas are encouraged; always welcome and every effort will be made to accommodate them.

PERSONAL CARE: Support with medication administration, bathing, washing, dressing and other personal care routines.


HOME CARE: Cleaning, ironing, washing service, groceries, online shopping. Communication with family and friends.

HEALTH CARE APPOINTMENTS: Support to attend health care appointments including transport to and from.

MEALS: Prepared in your own home or meals delivered. All meals are nutritious, homemade and fresh. Dietary and cultural needs catered for.

ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT: Filling in forms, organising paperwork, budgeting, arranging meetings, banking, pension collection and correspondence.

PET SERVICES: Walking, feeding, cover for holidays, appointments and hospital cover.

HOME MAINTENANCE & IMPROVEMENTS: Fixtures and Fittings including Curtain Rails/Blinds, Assembling Flat Pack Furniture, Shelving, Hanging Pictures, Mirrors and Paintings. Wood/Laminate Flooring and Skirting Boards, Patio Cleaning/Sealing, Erecting Sheds, Replacing Fence Panels

LIFE STORY WORK: Life Story work can be used to help develop a better understanding of someone needs and wishes so that care can be provided in a person-centred way. It provides a valuable insight into the life of someone especially when they have difficulty in sharing this information themselves. It helps to encourage better communication and relationships between the person, family carers and staff who are providing care.

RESPITE BREAKS & COMPANIONSHIP SITTING SERVICE: Whether respite is required for an emergency, a few hours, day care, for overnight or a weekend. I can provide a flexible and tailored respite service to suit your needs. Providing a vital lifeline to those who need a welcome break with peace of mind, feeling safe and supported in their own home.

Monday to Friday:
Per Hour £15.00 between the hour of 9am to 5pm
Per ½ Hour £11.00

Per Hour £19.00 between the hours of 5pm to 9am
Per ½ Hour £13.00

Weekends:
Per Hour £20.00
Per ½ Hour £14.00
Bank Holiday:
Per Hour £30.00
Per ½ Hour £22.00

Respite Overnight:
Monday to Thursday £108.00 between 10pm to 7am.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday £145.00 per night between 10pm to 7am.
Emergency Call Out: £60.00 including first half hour of service. £30 per hour thereafter.


MILEAGE: 45p per mile (first 5 miles no charge)

Expertise

I have extensive experience of providing various aspects of support to individuals with complex needs. This includes: Alzheimer's & other forms of dementia including Early Onset. Individuals with Sensory Impaired, Learning & Disabilities, End of Life Care, Mental Health both Young and Older People, Autism, Challenging and Complex Behaviours, Alcohol and Substance Abusers, Self-Harmers, LGBT, Minority Groups, Hoarders, Stroke Survivors, Children in Foster Care and also supported Carers, Family & Friends.

I have had extensive experience of safe guarding adults from abuse. Working in conjunction and collaboratively with multi agencies in relation to identification, raising concerns, reporting preventing and protecting clients from abuse and neglect.
I have a particular interest in developing and providing continuity of care and a greater variety of choice and support for people. I am also committed and passionate about safeguarding, breaking down of barriers and stigma’s, working with the LGBT community and minority groups, bullying, reducing social isolation, loneliness and stigmas within society surrounding mental health.

I deliver a person-centered and inclusive for all care and support service. This incorporates a range of practical care and support services both within the clients home and the local community. I enable individuals to maximize on their independence and to remain in their home environment for as long as possible, regardless of the level of need. My fundamental values include listening, respecting, inclusion for all, and also recognising individuality and a person’s sense of identity. I am committed to providing the highest level of personal and professional standards and have a highly developed person-centered philosophy of care. I believe knowing a person’s wishes, strengths, preferences and needs enables me to provide a personalized provision of support that each unique individual requires and deserves.

I have been in the Health & Social Care industry for over 20 years, 9 of these as Personal Assistant. I have gained extensive experience and knowledge during this time and taken every opportunity for self-development and progression through training, research and gaining further qualifications.

I had the fantastic opportunity to further my experience and career progression whilst working for the Carers Breaks Dementia Engagement Service (Adult Social Care, East Sussex County Council). I also facilitate x3 of the Dementia Supper Clubs which are across are supported by East Sussex County Council.

Background

I started my own business 15 years ago by providing art therapy and activities to clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s and mental health conditions.
This work inspired me to design and make affordable, unique sensory, acoustic and tactile products for individuals.

I was a registered foster carer for over 6 years, specializing in respite and emergency care for children with learning disabilities, special needs, autism and challenging behaviour.
