I have qualifications for Business Studies, Childminding, Dementia, Diabetes, Dignity, Epilepsy, First Aid, Food Safety, Good Nutrition, Medication, Mental Health, Moving and Handling, Multiple Sclerosis, Paediatric First Aid, Stroke. Volunteer for The Cinnamon Trust.

With over forty years experience and a vast knowledge of office work, childcare, cooking, gardening, pets and latterly befriending, dementia, elderly care, good nutrition, medicine and specialist services, I feel confident to offer my services with a professional caring approach. I enjoy volunteer work and currently walk dogs with The Cinnamon Trust. They are a charity for elderly or terminally ill people who require assistance looking after their pets. Recently I have gained more experience with dementia as this health condition is on the increase so there is more demand for support. In all of my work, I have found the quality anyone looks for most in someone supporting them is confidence, empathy, patience and a positive outlook in life. Amongst many other qualities, I have those four and always greet my clients with a smile and friendly approach.

Having attended Business College I began my career as a secretary in the Executor and Trustee Division of a bank. I retired from this post when I started to bring up my family. During this time I became an Ofsted registered childminder. When my family were older my Mother required a little extra help, so I retired from childminding to become a home help assisting her. Combined with this I set up my own home help company providing support for the young and elderly population. Amongst a variety of services I also interviewed carers, dealt with employment and payroll/direct payments as well as being in charge of medication. Now that my family have flown the nest and my Mother has passed on, I have made the decision to further my career to that of a Personal Assistant as I find enjoyment giving support to people whose needs require a little more than the average person. I have therefore enhanced this by training and becoming accredited on the Support with Confidence scheme operated by East Sussex County Council.
