I am able to offer one to one person centred care which can include personal care , medication and assistance with meal preparation , shopping and cleaning. I am also happy to take a client to visit a garden centre or a place of interest. Transport to medical appointments or to carry out other tasks is also something I am happy to do. Expertise

I enjoy gardening, walking and reading. I have recently taking up sewing but still have a lot to learn. I like to travel and love visiting gardens and National Trust Properties. I love dogs and include looking after and walking them as part of my role.

Experience

I have worked within the care environment for many years , during which time have acquired skills to be able to use within a home and community setting. Providing good communication and trust to my clients are at the top of my list for providing a safe and professional service. My own personal experience also enables me to empathize and be aware of peoples circumstances.

Background

I started my career working on a respite unit which also included a unit for supporting people to return home from hospital after illness or operations. My role was to encourage and assist clients to regain their confidence and integrate back into the community whilst being able to remain at home. I understand how difficult that this can be, but realize that with the right support how much can be achieved. I have also worked on a dementia unit, and again I am aware of the challenges that this can bring.
Supporting clients and their families at the end of life is another role which I have experience in .My current qualifications and current training include: NVQ3 in Health and Social Care , Open University K101 Health and Social Care and all training as required by the SWC team.
I am also keen to continue my training and update with new procedures as required.
