Experience

I have worked in Health and Social Care for over 25 years and have supported clients with a range of diverse needs and requirements. I have direct experience with working with clients living with a diagnosis of dementia, complex needs, learning disabilities and mental health. I was a registered manager for 5 years as well as working on the front line with direct contact with clients. I also worked for East Sussex County Council for 9 years in Adult Social Care. I am currently self -employed agency worker undertaking assignments in care homes and supported living services.

I have direct and extensive experience of working with clients who are living with a diagnosis of dementia, in my last post I worked with clients who were at the end of their life journey, and I supported them to the very end. I dealt with hospice at home and district nurses to ensure that people with palliative care died with dignity and were pain free. I have also liaised with a range of different health professionals including GP’s and social workers. I was also a registered manager supporting clients who had a learning disability to lead independent lives.

I have current manual handling and first aid at work certificate I also kept up to date with all my mandatory training.

Background

I am educated to degree level and hold an accredited Health and Social Care Level 5 higher education diploma. I also hold a Level 5 diploma to teach in higher education as well as being a qualified assessor and internal verifier. As well as working directly with clients I also taught health and social care courses to young adults as well as for ESCC.
